Those who slt down to tables contalnlng an ábundance of good thinge on Tlmrsday, should remember the many tables that are destltute, and tvhen they return thanksf or the bouhtlee of thelr own table, let those thanks be glvh a keen rellisli by the knowlodge that throiigh their own efforts same one or more of those that were destltute have been filled. Instead of a day of feasting, let It be a 'day of charity, generoslty and true thankfulness. Andrew J. Sawyer, who ha8 been recently elected to the legislature, gave the members of the Ana Arbor Typographlcal Union, together wlth a number of newspaper men reporter of this city, a banquet1 at the Pc -rtland Cafe, on Tuesday evening last. It was a jolly affair, and responses to toasts wero made by A. A. Pearson of tlie Daily Times Geo. E. Cooper foreman of the Inland Press office, Sid "W. MiUard, Ed. Wells, Harry E. Parr, Converse G. Cook, Clyde Kerr, Kobert Stevenson. Jas. B. Saunders. N. D. Corbin, piarl Harriman, Torn TV. Miingay, Glenn V. Mills, and others. Mr. Sawyer proved liianself a genial heust, and all those present enjoyed the evening beyond measure. At ihe meeting of Northsldel citizens last week, to talk over the new churca project, the followlng commlttee was appoluted to push the enterprise, In coinpaiiy with the officers already choeen : Charles H. Manly, George "W. Weeks, A. M. Bo-wen, Spencer IX Lennon, S. M. Bangs, George Spathelf, Jr., and Gilbert C. Rhodes.
