Chase, of this city, the man who made a fortune by publishing "Dr. Chase's Keciepts For Information for Every body," andwho built the Courier block. Young Chase was born in this city, lived here until he was a lad when his people removed to Toledo, Ohio, where he carne to manhood and was married. The Detroit papers state that he has led an inteinperate life, but was perfectly sober Sunday, when he attempted umrder and suicide. A letter found on his person written by himself and intended for the coroner after his death, states that he did the deed because of jealousy, for which her friends claims there was not the least cause. His wife was Miss Twombla, and is credited with being an industrious, prudent women. Both were taken to Harper's Hospital, where they are now and the physicians think both will recover. .
