The ladiies who gave their time, and iheir money as weüll, for the Christmas ilinoer at the chapei on the Northside on Ohristmas Day, fee! that their ef■Forts were crowned with success. The handsome sum of $60 was cdieared for the new church building by the event. But outside of the money making it was an enjoyable affair, and those who were present Jiad a rlght merry Christmas. One up-town merchant hainded the cashier $2 for liimseli and wlfe and remarked tlhat it was as good a dinner as he ever had and well worth the extra lie gave. The trastees have about $500 on hand mow, whleh wilL'l pay ior the lot aind ïeave a nestegg tor the ediïice. It might not be out oï püace to sbate that the young girle society which is working for this cause has turned over some $20 to tvhe fu'nd by their own eiforts.
