Whlle t.his Is very commenAiWe indeed, it ■miftht niot be out oí order to suggest tlnat there is a prreat deal oí starvatiion and eufferihg in our own land th&t demanda immediate relief. "Ohiarity begins at home." - Dexter IJeader. And yet there is amother slde to this questioa. It is possible that charity stoould begin at home, and yet it sbould extend to every sufferr on the face of Ood's eart,h, or it is mot charity at all, it is selfishness. Ann Arbor cares for her own sufferers, and tve believe oares for them well. If any of her people are so fortúnate, or bo kiodly minded that they cían spare more tha.n it takes to oare for the home poor, then it is pure Christi'amity to turn to the suffering ones abroad and extend a helping hamfl. ' Wton the Great Teacher was upon earth He taught no distinctions. He bade His ïollowers to do good unto ALT. mankind. He never tolerated si-1 islwiess in any form, but repeated'y iimpressed npon. those who becameHiï apostles that ALL mankind were brothers. And so ït is our telif that those wto take aa taterest in these poor Anmeninn orphans, whose fathers and motluers and every oarthly protector hare been murdered because they sought to be followers of Christ, are doing noble work. They are serving God as truly and as sincerely as are those who give to the needy ïere at home. i ■ Human suffering is Juert as intense In Armeni'a as in America ; in Constantinoplo as ïn Ann Arbor, and he whüO helps to alleviate the woes of a sufferer there serves his Master just as faithfully as the one who does it here. God bless the man or woman who g-ives to help the ■unfortunate oí any place or clime.
