James Richard, a man past muidle age, was murdered at hls home in Superior township, near DLxboro, on giaturday niight. The oíd man was a sort of a herm.it, lired all alone, and as ïar as known had no relatives. He was a man of whom Ms neighborg knew little, as he did not seem to care fox anyone's society. The object of the inurder was no d'oubt robbery, and how much the rotobers got is not known. The murdered man Hved until the next evening, and regained consciousness suffioient to gtro a meagre account of the affair, and description of the men, bilt nothing xevj defintte. Sheriff Judson and his deputies have scoured the counrty thereaboute but haTe not been able to obtain clues. Coroner Ball has summoned a jury, and on Thursday, a 2 p. m., an Inquest wlll be held. Such things benefit no one by description, and the Courier will be glad if the time ever comes when newspapers shal] be compelled by law to desist trom giving details of crimes of all sorts. There is a young man living on E. Madison st., nanied H. J. Richards, whose father had a brother named James Richards, disappear from their home ta. England during the 60's and who Mi was thought had come to America. It is possible that he may be a nephew of the murdered man, and if bo, probably an heir, which ■w'ould be profitable to him, as there is quite an estáte to go to some one.
