This Venice, as the Editor explains, "is not a Venice oí palaces, but óf farms and country inns ; not only a bucolic home, but a haunt of pleasure-seekers; a Holland far from tlie sea; a country where tbe streetsare of water; an euormous net work of canals and of well-traveled routes, but as yet removed from the runways of the tourist. The writer of the article is Charles de Kay U. S. Consul at Berlín, and the pictures are by the well-knowu Century illustrator, Louis Loeb. Tn the February Century Genera] Porter in bis recollections of "Campaigning with Grant" recounts anecdotes and describes incidents of the movements of the army from Spotsylvania to the North Anna. The Clack Book for February lias an entertaluing literary menu. The Story of Marie, A Legend of Michilimackiraac, Is very Interest ing, and the person who couldn't) get a nickel's w.orth of good readiag out of the number must have a hard taste to please. The February issue of The New Crusade contains several articles, any ome of wn-icn is well wortn the merely nominal subscription price of 50 cents per year. Here ie a quoitatton fnom an excellent article from the pen of Henry M. Tenney, I. D., en titled Points to be considered Kelating to the Sexes : "The whole man, as lias been said, is a ■Drinity,- made uft) of body, miad, and soul. HLs peifection calis ïor the harmonious development of his whole betng. In this development the different memoers of thlis trlnity are mutually le'peTident. Mind eind siotiI depend in saine mea.ns upqa tlie body, and the body deipends uipon and needs to be domiinated by the mind and soul. The develapment of neither can be perfect without the other. "Miarriage, thereiore, to be true and complete, and the means of the liAg-best blessing, must be a marriage of body, mind, and soul between man amd woman. There must be physical comgenialty, mental hannony and asplratfoin, and unity in spiritual aim iTid principie, - in love with God and mam. Unjjty in the hlgher strengtheas aod beautiiies unity in the lower. Unity oi love in th mental and spiritual life redeenis and gloriües tlie physical unity ïixm degradation of mero animal passi'on. Thus it ia made pure."
