The Am Arbor Courier. The Kepublican Electors of the State of Michigan, and all others who may desire to unite with them in upholdlng the principies of the Republican party, as declarod in lts platforms, are hereby requested to seud delegatestothe state Convention of sala party, io 1. e held at the Auditorium in the City of Detroit, on Tuesday, February 28, 1897, beginning, at 11 o'clock a. m., for the purpose ot nominating caudidates for Justice of tlie Supreme Court, and two Regents of the Univen-ity, and the transactlou of suchotner business as may properly come before the Conveution. Every eounty will be entitled to one dele gate for each '500 o the total vote cast for Governor at the last State electiou (November. 1896), and ndditional delégate for every fraction amounting to 300, but each organlzed eounty will be entitled to at least two deleUnder the resolntion of 1858 no delegato will be entitled to a seat in the convention who does uot reside in tue eounty he proposes to represent. The delegates from each congressional district are requested to meet in caucas at 10 o'clock a. m., February, 23, 1897, to select candidates, as follows, to be presented to the State (Jonvention for conflrmation : One ïcePresldent, one Assistant Seeretary, and one member for each of the Committees on " Credentials,"" Permaneut Organization and Order of Business." and " Resolutions," and for the transaction of auy other business properly coming before them. In accordance with a resolution adopted June 23, 1S80, the officers of each County (.'onTention are requested to forward tothe Seeretary of the State Central Committee, (LansIng,) bv the earliest mail afterlhe delégales to the State Conveution have been chosen, a certified list of such delegates, and their respective postofflee addresses, from their respective counties, as are entitled lo seats in this convention.
