I envy you your life of rest. Yon live In luxury, You e'er enjoy Ule very best the Fates reserve for me. You've never worked in all your life; you've never known a care; You've always lived apart from strife- existence sweet and rare. My right has e'er my writing done, while you have stood aside. You've liad your ful! share ot thefun, and yet iu peaceabide. You've never pentied a line for me, nor eyer struck h blow, And yet H isveryplaín to see you've never known a woe. And yet, dear friend, I cannot say the time v ill ever be Tbat there will be the dawn of day, when you're not dear to rae. My right hand is more useful, yes, but prlthee do not pout, You are a friend, I must confesa, I cannot do without.
