Frotu beginning to end the erfor manee was thoroughly firstclass, iiid was given in a manner that would ut inany professional conipanies to shame. "Tlie Lace Maker," which was given as a cnrtaiu raiser, was most successfully carried out by Messrs. A. M. Smith and Karl E. Harriman, joth of whom were leading characters n "ïlie Private Secretary." Mr. J. S. [Iandy as Mr. Cattermole was simply mmense ; while the make-up and work of Mr. Harriman as Rev. Bobert Spaulding were extremely laagha ble and clever. Miss I'liillips as Mrs. Stead, Mrs. llaiuly as Miss Ashford, and all the other characters were very wellsustained. The performance called out a lLiimi sized audience, among whom there were quite a number from Ann Arbor."
