Wise And Timely Suggestion
The foüowing trom the Ann Arbor Register is notonly wise but timely also : "The Register desires to cali the attention of the city iathers tawhat we believe shoulil receive their caieful attention. It is the matter of securiug control of the island in the river just east ot' the city and the land between that and the boulevard, for a city park. We anderstand that title to the land could be obtained at uierely a nominal sum. It would require but a small amount to transform the grouuds into a beautiful parkwhich would need only a small amount each year to maintain. ïhe opportunity the city has to add a pleasant resort to the numerous attractions which it already contains, should be seized upon. No increase in the tax levy need be made to accomplish such an undertaking. Some of the funds appropriated to certain other purposes could well be diverted to a wort of this sort."
