We thank Thee, I.ord, that thou liast sent affietion to thericli; J)yspepsia, gout, insomnlaand other troubles wliich Bisturb their souls, by day and night, and cause as much or moré Of real distress Ulan do the i] Ís that Thou hast seut ttie poor. We may not have enough to eat,- they eat too much, and so, IXsjustabout an even thing vkich liath the most of woe. We have no time to rest by day,- they cannot rest at night; Se, all In all, it seemeth things are pretty nearly right. We can't afford to ride but ttiere, again, their joy we balk, For, oh ! Thou sendest them the gout and so they cannot walk. ïhou sendest them rich food and drink, weak stomachs, headaches, wealth; Xo us thou sendest poverty, plain living, toil and health.
