Alliiiendinger & Bchneider, of this city, furuish us with the following relative to the pre para ti on of seed wheat so as to elimÃnate smnt from the erop, and recommend it to all farmers who raise wheat: To treat seed wheat so as to cure it of snuit take half a bushei of seed in a wire li;isket or perforated vessel and immerse it in water heated toa temperature of liO degrees Fahr. Then immerse the seed for a few minutes in scalding water at 132 to 133 degrees Fahr., hut not in any ease above 135 degrees. Keep the waters at an even temperature by adding hot water. The amount of scaldiug water should be eight times as great as the seeds treated, and the thermometer should be consult. ed all the time the wheat is in the scalding water. Spread the cleaned wheat out thinly on the floor or on a canvas to dry. Theu finally place it in bags that have been boiled 15 minutes, or in new bags. It is best to treat wheat just before planting.
