The record of sudden or violent deatlis in Ann Arbor and viCinity for tlie past iiiunth bas been appalling. Ou Friday morning last another was recorded, when the body of Mrs. Jobn H. Fraser was found in the mili race of the Argo Mills. The discovery was made by a little son of Chas. Haeuser, of Miller ave., who was fishing in the race, at 11 o'clock a. in. It was souie time before the remains were identified after they were taken out of the water. After being identifled they were taken to Dieterle's undertakiug rooms, where a steady stream of curious people passed in and out, an hour or more. It seems that Mrs. Fraser had been troubled for years with salt rheum, and had expended a good deal of mouey in trying to fiud a cure, hut without success. At times this fact made her very melancholy, and for two or three days and niglits before her death she had suffered extremely with the disease. On Friday morning she carne down into her husband's place of business on E. Anii st., where he runs a cigar factory and store, and toltl hiili that she had eoneluded to go to the University liospital, and see if Üiey couKl not help her, aud started out. And that was the last Mr. Fraser saw of her until he viewed her dead body. He was verj' much overeóme for a time and it was feared that. he inight do something desperate, but calm couucils quieted bis grief after a while. The deceased had no children. She and lier husband had been living over their store on E. Ann st., for the past two years or so, and neighbors thought a great deal of her. There has ahvays been the pleasantest relations existing between herself and husband in the home, and the only cause for the terrible deed, is that she had been kept awake and had sufi'ered so from her physical troubles that she becaine temporarily deranged. A jury empaneled by Corouer Ball rendered a verdict in accorilance with these (acts. The funeral was held Sattuday afternoon.
