John Benuett (of couree we in Ann Arbor all know ''Jack," and maiiy of us have been entertained by his wit many mul many a time), writes in tlie St. Nicholas this exquisite little scheme : A little old man of the sea Went out in i boat for a sail ; The water came in Aimost up to his chin. And he had nothing with which to bail. But this little old man of the sea Just drew out his jackfenife so stout. And a hole with his hlade In the bottom he made, So that all of the water ran out.
