A circular sent out by the New York Life Insurance Co. contains the following relative to one of Ann Arbor's young business men, wliicli is a record to be very proud of : "Every nionth for tliefirstsix months of this year, Mr. 0. F. Burkhart, of the Detroit Brauch, was a leader on applications, and he has just been paid liis bonus of $250. As every reader of the Bulletin knows, one of the conditions of this Leader Contest is that at least 80 per cent. of the business issued as applied for each montli must be placed and paid for in cash. The manner in which Mr.Burkhart has settled for his business in this connection is a credit to liiniself, a satisfaction to the company, and is a model which every representative of the New York Life should try to folio. In five montlis of the six he placed and paid for 100 per cent. of the business issued as applied for each montli, an-J in the remaining month he placed and paid for 93 per cent. VVhen it is considered that Mr. Burkhart, in this contest, placed and paid for 62 policies, we believe this record stands unequalled amona the leaders for the first half of 1897. We would like to know the secret of Mr. Burkhart's success, and perhaps, for the benefit of his coworkers, he may at some time be induced to give it."
