Soldier's Monument At Dexter
There was au enthusiastic meeting lield at Dexter Saturday night tofurther the proposition to erect a Soklier's Monnineut in tbat village. It was reported that over $400 had been already raised, and over $500 promised. A ent of a monument was shown tliat all agieed was a desi rabie one, and wbich would cost $1,000. A Soldier's Monument Associalion was tlien organized to carry out the enterprise, witli Oliver Bostwick as president; W. C. Clark, seeretary ; Harry Carpenter, treasurer. A committee of 12 was also appoinied to solioit subsepriptions. The people of Dexter are very mach interested in this proposition to have a monument erected within its borders that shall be a suitable memorial to the boys in blue who went from there and gave their lives to their country. It is a laudable enterprise. God speed and prosper it.
