And tlien- what surprise!- with his maglcal eyes Thal funuy oíd owl could see; And, rather I think, Mr. Skiddle de-Wlnk Was as happy as happy could be. When I was a boy, a wee Mttle boy, I went in the woods one day, When the sun was lovr, just so I could know What SkiddJe-de-Wink would say. He spread out hls wings and went flopping about, Till he lit on an old dead tree; And what do you think 1 with his comical wink He talked this way to me: "Tls time little children were snug in their beds; Now run along home - Rooh ! Booh !" I ventured to ask him, "Who is it yon mean?" He answered, "Whoo? Yoo, Yooo!" And ii you went Into the woods to night, as I when a boy used to do, Old Skiddle-de-Wiuk with his blinkety-bllnk Would talk the same way to you.
