Alpine Choir- Feb. llth. Revg. Dr. Ramay and Haakeil will ex. change pulpits next Sunday forenoon. The regular moutaly meeting of the Cocker League wil! be held next Monday evening. The time will be deyoted to musie, recitations, etc. Mr. Patton Taylor, M. D., of Chicago, will address tbe temperance meeting Sun day alternoon, at 3 o'clock, at CropseyV hall. Good music provided. The tollowing interesting program has been arranged for the next meeting of the Unity club, in the Unitanan church parIon, Monday evening, Jan. 16th : "Taffy social," with a paper on "taffy" by Mhk Nettie Brown, and Mr. Prof. Burt will read a paper on "Elizabeth Barrett Browning." W. J. Scanlan's new song, "Gathering the Myrtle with Mary," which is already being whisiled on the streets, was suggested by tbe name of his young guide, Mary 0 Grudy, who showed him some of the romantic spots near the Lake of Killarney during his recent tour in Ireland. Mr. Scaolan has nent the young woman several copies of his song, and within a lew days it will be heard on both sides of the Aiúntic. - Sunday Courier. At the opera house, Jan. 13. Next Sunday morning Rev. Mr. Sunderland will begin a series of sermons on " Practical Christianity, or Important Philanthropies and Reforms," treating such suHjects as " Grime, its Causes and Prevention;" "Intemperance, its Causes and Prevention ;" " Poverty, its Causes and Prevention;" " Prevention of Cruelty to Dutnb Animáis and Children;" "Bet ter Homes for the Poor;" " Child-saving Woik," etc. In the eveoing he will speak on, ■ The In'allibility of the Bible."
