Spbingfield, 111., Jan. 19. - Both houses of the State Legislature met yesterday and balloted separately for United Statos Senator. The vote in both houses combined was: Farwell, 110; Morrison, 77; Goodhue, 9. The two houses will meet in joint session to-day and declare Farwell elected. Lan'Sikg, Mich., Jan. 19.- The Michigan Legislature met Tuesday at Lansing and elected Colonel F. B. Stockbridge. The ballot was: Senate - Stockbridge, 22; Yaple, 9. House- Stockbridge, 65 ; Yple,27. Madison, Wis., Jan. 21.- The Republio ans of the Wisconsin Legislature Thursday night unanimously recommended Philetus gawyer for United States Senator. He will be re-elected, the Republicans having a majority of thirty-one on joint ballot. The Democrats placed in nomination John Winans, of Janesville, Po9tmaster-General Vilas receiving but two votes. Sas Francisco, Jan. 19.- The two houses of the California Legislatura Tuesday balloted separately for United States Senator. In the House Henry Vroomaa (Rep.) received 40 votes and George Hearst (Dem.) 38. In the Senate Vrooman received 11 votes and Hearst 25. Harbisüuko, Pa., Jan. 19.- M. S. Quay was yesterday elected United States i ator, to succeed Senator Mitchell, reeeiving a majority oí the votos cast in both houses. Isdianapolis, Ind., Jan. 19.- The Senate and House, in separate session voted for United States Senator. The Labor members of the House voted for Captain J. H. Allen, of Terre Haute. In the House the ballot stood: Harrison, 53; Turpie, 43; Allen, 4. In the Senate: Turpie, 32; Harrison, 18. Indiaxapolis, Ind., Jan. 20.- The members of the Legislature in view of the restraining order against Lieutenant-Governor Robertson, agreed that Senator Smith should preside over the joint conventdon yesterday. The first ballot for Senator was 75 for Judge Turpie and 71 for Benjamin Harrison. Inmasapolis, Ind., Jan. 25.- The Indiana Legislature took one ballot Monday for United States Senator, resulting: Turpie, 74; Harrison, 70; Allen, 4. There seems to be no ininiediate prospect oí a change. Hartford, Conn., Jan. 19.- Senator Hawley ws re-elected to his seat in the United States Senate yesterday. Augusta, Me., Jan. 19.- The Legislatura yesterday elected Eugene Hale to succeed himself as United States Senator. Dover, Del., Jan. 19.- Both houses oi the General Assembly, in separate sossion, voted unanimously yesterday morning for the re-election of George Gray as United States Senator. St. Padl, Minn., JaD. 19.- Ex-Covernoi Cushman K. Davis was elected to the United States Senate yesterday. Albany, N. Y., Jan. ).- Frank Hiscock received last night the nomination foi United States Senator at the hands of the Republican Senatorial caucus, defeating Senator Miller and Levi P. Morton. Albany, N. Y., Jan. 21.- The joint Senatorial ballot in the New York Legislatura yesterday resulted in 91 votes for Frank Travií-if anrl fi2 for Smith M. Weed. Boston, Jan. 30.- Senator Hnry L. Dawes was re-elected yesterday. Jeffersos City, Mo., Jan. 20.- The State Legislature yesterday re-elected Mr. Cockrell United States Senator. Lincoln, Neb., Jan. 23.-Hon. A. S. Paddoek was nominated f or United States Sen' ator from Nebraska to succeed Charles H. Van Wyck in the Republican legislative caucus yesterday morning, after flfteen ballots had been taken. In the joint session at noon the vote was as follows: Paddock, 94; McShane (Democrat), 32; Van Wyck, 4. Nashvillb, Tenn., Jan. 25.- Ex-Governor Bate was Monday night nominated for United States Senator by the Democrats oi the Tonnessee Legislature. This insures his election.
