Mr. Gl&ditone, the Premier, who is now in excellent health, yeíterday afternoon received, at Hawarden, Herr André's Alpine Choir, who are falfilling an engage ment at Cheater. The party, who were dressed in picturesque Swiss costume, Herr André, and Herr and Frau Meier players on the lither, drove up from CheRter and were very kindly received at the castle by Mrs. e and Mr. Herbert Gladxtone. They were conduated to the drawing room of the oastle where a number of guests were asgembled. Mr. Glad stone had proposed to give only five minnteg of his time to the relazation thus oflered him, but so pl-ased wag he with the performance of the choir, that he desired the repetition of four or five items in the programme, and the resnlt was that the five minutPB extended to three quartere of an hour. The aiecibers of the choir were afterward entertaincd at teaby Mrs. Gladtone, and each of the young ladies wa presented by her with a boquet. To Herr André she presenied the portrait of herelf ad her husband, with their autorraphs. Mr. Herbert Gladstone esoorted he party over the ruins of the old castle. - From the London Times, Oct. 5.
