To the Editor: Please let me say a word for the vicious dog. Query. - If Mr. C's temper has been roused by four unprovoked attacks in a life of flfty-five years, how much temper willa dog be supposed to retain, who have endured four or more, unprovoked attacks in each day of his hfe ? Wint tnakes a vicious dog il a vicious master. When attacked by a vicious dog let each one congratúlate himself that he is reaping the reward he deserves, for either his own or another'i indifference to the golden rule, "Do unto others" - not other men - not other women - but all living creatures - "as you would they should do unto you." If you let others do wrong y ni must not growl because you are foreed to bear a portion of the consequences of that wrong doing, for a dog, man-like, re'.aliates not upon the i: jurer, alone, but upon all his race. We, in the name o!' jostioe to the brute creation, as well as to man, think that a society of the prevention of cruelty to animáis should be found in tliis city. We take this opportunity to cali the attention of the people to the abusive treatment of dray and hack hor&e in this city and sugegt that the state law per tainiug to cruelty to animáis be enforced
