Fllowing is the programme for the Uuity Club, in the T'nitarian church parlors, next Monday evening: " Mind reading," Harold JJ. Wilson; ''Mind Cure," Prof. John Dewey ; music and social hour. The annual meeting of the Ladies' Charitable Union will be held at the ladies' library rooms, Thursday, March 3d. It is desirable that there be a full attendance. The receipt of a box of shoes frorn Samuel Kruuse is thankfully acknowledged. Next Sunday morning Rev. Mr. Sun derland will give the fourth of his series of sermons on the grest philanthropisls and reforma of the day. Subject, ''The Reformalion of Crimináis and Pnson Reform." His evening subject will be, "The Legendary, Mythical and Politica! Eiement in the Bible." The regular rnonthly meetiug of the pomological society will be held in the basement of the court house; Saturday, March 5th, at 2 r. m. The reporta will be heard of the committees on fruit factory, on infusonial earth, on best and oheape-t fruit packages, on statistics. Pruf. J. B. Steere will lead in the discussion on noxious insecís and insectici Jes. Rev. Kerr B. Tupper, of Grand Rapids, will occupy the Baptist pulpit, next Sunday, bo h morning &ud evening. Rev. Topper is reputed as being one of the ittractive pulpit orators in the wes', and he will well repay all who hear him. Rev. P. S. Henson, D. D., of the Fint Baptist churnh of Chicago, will preach from the sane pulpit abou' two weeks I later. AU are cordialiy inviteJ. The Cocker league entertainment for next Monday eTening, Feb. 28 h, 1887, will be an entertainment lorg to be remembered by all who attend. A genuine "last day of school," full of life, lull of spice, everything to please and nothing to displease. As the exercises will be so good md the admission fee only 10 cents, it will be necessary to come early to secure a good seat. Do not forget this of all entertainments for the year, if you wíúk to spenl a pleasant evening. There will be an entertainment in the M. E. church, March llth, which will be dissimilar to anything ever given in Ann Arbor, and it is hoped will be as w I attended as the "Mother Goose" concert given last winter. Mrs. Flora B. Hall has it in charge and bas given much time to it, which should be an additional motive for making it a raooeo. The entertainment is called "The Q iien of the Bird-." The argument, "The Q iec;n of the Birds," at the t'equest of the Fuiries reqiires her sub)ect.i to sing individually in the pregence of the Fairies and af ter hearing tnem, the lark is crowned "Queen of Song." The parts will be taken by some of our best singers, amoDg them Miss May Whedon and naten, l H Millie Knowlton, Misses Mahon, Richardsjn, Vulland, PayS, Taylor and Wilson. There will also be active songs by a chorus ot 50 children, several unique features. There will also be a Fan Brigade by eight of Ann Arbor's attractive young ladies.
