The Geddes Sunday gchool v give a social at the residence cf Af Godfrey, Friday evening. The Unity club will repeat their Monday evening entertainment, in the parlors of the Unitarian church this cTening. The ladies' misionary societieg of the Presbyterian church, hold a unión praise meeting Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in the lecture room of the church. At the urgent reqnest of many friends, the pantomime, which was so successfully jiven Moiday night, will be repeated Thursday evening, April 21. Do not miss it. Dr. Studley, of Detroit, will give his very entertaining lecture, "The Yankee Illustrated," in the M. E.ehurch, May 6th. Everywhere this lecture has been lauded and we expect a crowded house. Mrs. Francis Preston, of Detroit, a colored elocutionist of considerable ability, will give a reading in Firemen's hall, in this city, Friday evening, for the benefit of the African Baptist church, of this city. Admission 15 and 25 cents. Dr. Studley, of Detroit, will deliver a lecture in the M. E. church, Friday evening, May 6th, on "The Yankee Illustrated,': nnder the auspices of the women's foreign missionary society. The lecture has been favorably oommented on wherever delivered and is worthy of a good house. Rev. Mr. Sunderland's subject at the ünitarian church next Sunday morning will be "The Great Historie Creeds of Christendom." In the evening Mrs. Sunderland will speak (in her course of lectures on christian history) on "The Political Resulta of the Reformation." There will be a unión social of the young people's societies of the Baptist, Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian churohes, at the Congregational church, next Saturday evening, April 23, to which all the young people of the different churchea are cordially invited. Refreshments will be served and a few spicy musical and recitative exercises will be rendered, and a general good time may be expected. Mrs. Sunderland's courge of thirty lectures in the Unitarian church on ''Q-reat Epochs and Events of Christian History," will close with four to be given the next four Sunday evenings, ia "Results of the Prostestant Reformation," as followg : April 24, "Political Results;" May 1, "Reilts upon Science and Philosophy ; " May 8, "Results upon Theology and Religión ; " May 15, "Relations of the Reformation to the Liberal Christianity of Today." The ladies of the first Baptist church oí Arn Arbor will hold their annual flower festival on the afternoon and evening of Friday, Ma? 6tb, 1887. They will have for sale a large assortment of pansies, geraniums, verbenas and oiher budding and blooming plants. In addition there will b a fine display of useful and fancy articles to be sold at reasonable prices. The ladies earnestly hope that their former patrons and others will defer their purchase of flowering plants till the time of this festival. The doors will be open at 3 o'clock. Admission 10 cents.
