The regular monthly meeting of the Washtenaw Pomological Society will be held in the basement of the coart house, Saturday afternoon, May 7, at .two o'clock sharp. Topics: Report of the committee on resignation of Iion. J. Austin Scott, the worthy president ot this society; of the committee on cheaper and better transportation ; final report of committee on fruit preserving factory. Tbere will also occur the election of a new president, exhibit of Benedict's Berry Harvester, of iruit baskets, especially berry and peach packages, fruit of the season and preserves. Every fruit grower of Washtenaw county has a deep interest in this meeting. Every friend of the society is most cordially invited. Emil Bacr, Cor. Sec'y. The maximum salary of the Superintendente of female clerks in the clearing-house branch, the postal order branch, and the savings bank branch of the post-offlce, England, has been raised irom L300 to L400 a year.
