DKTotT, Mich., April 26.- David Preston, well known throughout Michigan as a banker and leadmg Prohibitionist, and promineut in the Methodist Church, to which he has írom time to time contributed large sums oí money, died suddenly Sunlay morning. Only his wife was át his bedside when he expired. Asbirt Park, R J., April 29.- Rer. J. B. Dobbins, D. D., a well-known member of the Philadelphia Methodist Episcopal Conference, dropped dead at the depot ;here Friday afternoon while taking a train. Apoplexy was the cause. Dr. Dobbins was one of the most promineut and popular Methodist clergymen of Philadelphia. He was a nativa of New Je 3ey, and about sixty years of age. St. Iouis, April 24 -Thomas E. Bennett, a well-known broker doing business at 305 Pine street, feil dead in his office Sunday whüe showing his son the combination to a safa Mr. Bennett was secretary and director oí half a dozen big mining companies. He was bom in Rome, N. Y., ia 1832, carne West at an early day and started, at Winona, the first National bank orgauiïed in Minnesota.
