"a Reflected Yankee."

The young people's society of the Ceutral M. E. ehurch gve the closing entertainment of their eourse to a well filled house last Friday evening. It consisted ot a lee' ure from the pastor, Dr. Studley, on "A Heflected Yankee." We have hai Dr. Studley as preacher and editor before lt remained for Friday evening to disclose hi8 ab;lity as a platform speaker and poet. In prose, the lecture would have oommanded instant attention, as a remarkable record of keen observation of' Yankee characteristics, and might eaiily serve as a model of our best American wit and humor; the production, howver, in rhythmic measure gve it a unique character and torce, and altogether made it one of the most delightful plaiform efforts we have ever listened to. An hour and a quarter's unflagging attention is a tribute of no mean order to a poetic production, and Dr. Studley is to bo congratulated upon so pronounced a success in so cult an undertaking.
