THE ABMOÜB SÜIT. CniCAGO, June 11.- The Journal ol yesterday says: Phillip D. Armour has surrendered himself. Ho has given bail te appear before Justice Brayton this afternoon in answer to the warrant sworn out against him by Austin W. Wright. Mr. Armour did not rcspond in person, nor was nis bond given Thursday, but tb.8 surety for his appearanca is duly on file in Justice Brayton's court. He is charged with having cornered the pork market. Mr. Wright denies that he has lost a cent or a barrel of pork by the corner, but acted from the conviction that the whole Board ol ïrade had been outraged. Tha forming oí a corner, he said, is equivalent to corraling a man and takin? away nis money. In this instance he had strong evidence against Mr. Armour, and he oouiQ uot hov psc.ipftd. However. he would not push the prosecution, becausc his most intímate friends had urged him to drop it, and he had dcckied to yield to their appeals. Mi. Armour declared he was not afraid of being arrested. Wright' s complaintwas too insignificant to receive any attention. He did not know Wright, but supposed ha got in the way of the pork-deal procession, was squeezed, and thought to get even in this way. Coutinuing, he said: "So far as I am concerne! I know nothing whatever about the act ot individual traders on board of trade. Of coursc I have men there to represent my Interests, but I deal altogether with the public. My sales, as a merchant, last year were $51,000,000. Tbat is 113,000,1 XI larger than the sales ever made in one year ty any other merchant In the United States. Mr. Claflin one year sold 139,000,000 worth of goodi. My sales this year will reach f60,000,000. Does that look as if I am hurting the public? I carry 6,000 men on my pay-roll and employ 175 clerks. I never injure the masses, and there is not a man in this country to be found who will say I do. The tact is, I have treated the public better than most men." __
