Prohibition Defeated In Canada

Ottawa, Ont., June 14.- The protnbition debate, which commenced in the House of Commons last Wednesday, was continued yesterday. Mr. CargiU's amendment for the repeal of the Scott law was negatived by 143 to 37. An amendment to allow the sale oí beer and light wines in Scott-act counties was voted down by a majority of 88. The división on the main motion in favor of prohibition was then taken and the motion was negatived by 43 majority.
