Washington-, July 12.- Messrs. J. O. Curry, of Aurora, and M. W. Dunham, of Wayne, a committee representing the Illinois Horse-Breeders' Association, had a conference yesterday with Secretary Fairchild in reference to importation oí horses and cattle for breeding purposes, with the result that they received assurances that ail importations for purely breeding purposes would under the rules be allowed entry free of duty. Animáis imported for speculation would, however, be subjected to duty, and penalties are imposed for violation of the law.
