Jay Gould Exonerated

Nkw York, July 9.- Mr. Cyrus Field in a letter says that himseli and his associates did sell 78,000 of Manhattan shares to Jay Gould at $123 cash per share, but says explicitly that Mr. Gould acted in a straightforward marnier throughout the transaction, and that no uníriendly íeeling exists betweea the writer and Mr. Gould.
