Cleveland, O., July 2: - Th Democratie State Convention was callea to order at eleven o'clock yesterday morning in Music Hall by Henry Bohl, of Mariett i, Chairman of the State Executive Committee. Hon. George E. Sene}, of Tiflin, at once took his place as permanent chairman, and made a short address. The ticket nominated is as follows: For Governor, Thomas E. Powell, of DelawareConnty; for Lieutenant-Governor, D. C. Coolman, of Portage County; Supreme Court Judge (long term), L. R. Critchfleld, of Holmes County; (short term), Virgil P. Kline, oí Cleveland; Auditor, Emil Kiesewetter, of Franklin County; Treasurer, George W. Harper, of Green County; A ttorney -General, Willlam H. Leet, of Ottawa County; Member of the Board of Public Works- Peter J. Murphy, ol Butler County. The platform indorsas the President's Administration, demands a tariff íor revcnue ouly, favors liberal pensions lor solUiers, a reduction of internal reverme exrept on Iiquors, demands the holding of all Government lands for the use oí actual settlers, who are citizens of the United States, and for those who declare their intention to become such, favors the protection of employers and employés, denounces contract labor, denounces the present Repubücan State administration, demands the fullest safe-guards for the ballotbox and the punishment of all who seek to corrupt it, favors home rule in the management nd control of municipal affairs, and demands a prop-ir regulation of the liquor traffic, and the submission of au amendment to the constitution providing lor Uie license of such traffic.
