A Double Tragedy

New York, Aug. 22.- Mre. Melvina R. W. Payne and daughter were found dead In tenement house at No. 31 Charles street, 8aurday. They committed suicide the prevlous Monday, but the discovery was not made until their bodles became offensive. They left money in several savings banks, and a note stating that they had killed themselves rather than go to a mad-house. The daughter was a school-teacher, and both were women of irreproachable character.
