A $10,000,000 Transaction

Chicago, Aug. 18.- It lis reported that a syndicate of capitalista has secuíed control of the mines in the Vermillion iron range in Minnesota. The price paid by the purchasers is said to be $10,000,000. H. H. Porter, J. C. Morse and Marshall Field, of Chicago; D. D. Mills, of New York; John D. Bockefeller, of Cleveland; the Standard Oil Company and others of the same standing financiallr comprise the syndicate.
