Sickness if abating in this vicinity. W. J. Knapp and family are at Ypsilanti. Wm. Warner, of Dexter, was here Wednesday. Evaporator men are very busy buzzing the farmers just now. Gilbert & Crowell's evaporator commenced business yesterday. Mrs. L. S. Holmes is visiting her sister Mrs. Hickman, atBattle Creek. Mrs. W. J. Daneer, of Stockbridge, spent last Sabbath here with her parents. Miss Cora Burchard, of Syl van Center, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, of typhoid fever, aged 22 years. Eev. Dr. Holmes preached last Sunday evening to the young people at the M. E. church. The house was crowded. A. J. Sawyer, Jerry Knowlton, and C. R. Whitman, of Ann Arbor, wuh their families, are cottaging at Kavanaugh lake. The premium list of the second annual fair of the Western Washtenaw and Eastern Jackson Agricultural Society, to take place September 27-30, at Chelsea, is in circulation. Send for a copy to Geo. H.
