The season of '87 is about at its close. Miss Minnie Avis is one of the sick. The fall term of school opens Monday. F. G. Rane, of Detroit, has been visiting here. Miss Anna Rane will spend the winter in Chelsea. Thos. Haran is quite low of pneumonía of the lungs. School meeting Monday evening, at the school house. Miss Mabel Stiles enters the Ann Arbor High School this term. Bev. S. W. Bird will deliver his farewell sermón Sunday evening. There has not been a game of base ball played here this summer. A large company of Gernians picniced on the east side last Friday. The fainily of Emmet Smith, of Jaekson, have deserted their cottage here. Michael Trainor has nearly recovered from his injuries received on picnic day. Mr. and Mrs. James Pray return today from a visit in various parts of the state. Fred. Roper and wife will soon make their home in Michigan's finest city, Ann Arbor. Ice cream festival in the interest of M. E. Church, at Wm. Rane's parlors, last evening. Mrs. E. U. Stiles and two children, and Miss Nora Grant, of Vermontville, are visiting here, Mre. Drake and daughters.who spent the summer months here, have returned to Ann Arbor. Some urchins deserve justice for breaking a large number of window lights in our school house and doing other damage. The district officers are desirous of learning the ñames of these youngsters. Campers in Clifton grove have been trying to keep warm around brush fires, and to make a still more pleasant time they feast on pop corn fresh and warm. Mrs. Ella Pray and family go to the "Athens of Michigan" to live.
