Several Contests

Washington, Aug. 2S.- General Clarke, the Clerk oí the House of Bepresentatives, has received and had printed the testimony in eight contested eleetion cases that are to be considered by the next Oongress. They are as follows: Lowrey vs. White, Indiana; Smalls vs. EUiott, South Carolina; Gainor vs. Frank, Missouri; Worthington vs. Post, Illinois; MeDuffy vs. Davidson, Alabama; Carlisle vs. Thoebe, Kentucky; Snllivan vs. Felton, and Lynch vs. Dsvere, California The testimony in these cases makes nearly 10,000 pages, that of theSullivan-Fenton case being the most voluminous. Messrs. O'Hara, of North Carolina, and Swinburn, of New York, who, it is said, will make a contest, have not vet filod notice nor submlttëd testimony to the clerk.
