Evansville, Ind, Sept 19.- Charles Ferry, the son of the accredited revenue offlcer here, who has been acting as his father's clerk since the latter assumed the ofllo e of deputy collector, decamped on Thursday night for parts unknown, and an examination of the books by General Mansor and Mr. Madlson, his first deputy at Terre Haute, revealed the Btartling fact that young Ferry had embezzled funds belonging to tlie Government to the amount of $4,800. As vet no trace has been found of hlm. D. J. Mackay and Williain M. Akln were on his bond for $20,000.
