Chicago, Sept 20. - Henry Woodson, better known as the "Black Diamond," the coiored pugllist, was shot and instantly killed by Thomas J. White, a colored porter on the Wisconsin Central railroad, in a room over a saloon at No. 233 Third avenue shortly after midnight The ehooting was the result of a quarrel over a colored woman named Irme Hayes, and was committed by White in Belf-defense. The woman was also slightly wounded in the left hand by one of the bullets.
