Chelsea Fair next week. Miss H. G. Judson has gone to Kalamazoo. Rev. H. M. Gallup, of Ypsilanti, was here Wednesday. Rennie Taylor spent Tuesday night here with his parents. Miss Lyra Hatch commenced ter school at Bellevue, Monday. Mrs. Dr. Bobertson, of Battle Creek, returned to her home Wednesday. The grocery firm of Conkright & Fletcher is changed to Fletcher & Hathaway. Mrs. J. E. Durand has gone to Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, to spend the winter. Jake Kern and Mary A. Young were married Tuesday, Sept."20, 1887, by Rev T. Robinson. Mi8sion services are being held in St. Mary's church every day and evening this week. Dr. R. M. Speer, of Battle Creek, spent a few hours here with his parents Wednesday morning. Mrs A. Durand left Monday for a visit of several weeks in Connecticut, Brooklyn and New Jersey. Rev. J. H. Mclntosh is expected to commence his labors with the M. E. church at this place next Sunday. Rev. Dr. Reilly, of Detroit, will deliver an address at Chelsea Recreation Park, Thursday, Sepe. 29, at 1 o'clock p. m. Subject: "American Yeomanry." John Heckle, residing on the farm of James Gorman, a few miles north of town, retired last Saturday night in his usual health and died of apoplexy before morning, at the age of 35.
