Chicago, Sept 24.- The National Council of the amalgamated building trades Thursday re-elected J. S. Robinson, of Cincinnati, president, and decided to hold its next annual meeting at Philadelphia in September, 1888. The Committee on Kesolntions recommended that, in the interest6 of harmony between the different trades, each trade Bhould work strictly at its own calling, and ehould endeavor not to injure others, as had been the case; also that each local conncil urge the medium of arbitration as a means of preventing strikes. The creation of a f und f or mutual protection in each local building organization is also recommended. All local building trades councüs are asked to use their utmost eff orte to organize councils in their respective localities. The report was adopted.
