Missionary Doane Released

Boston, Sept ü(.- The American Board of Foreign Missions has received letters from Mr. Doane, the American missionary at Ponape, who was imprisoned last April by the Spanish Govemor in the Caroline Islands and carried away on a Spanish manof- war to the Philippine Islands for trial. Mr. Doane eays the Governor-General has diemissed all the charges against him, and authorized nis release and return to Ponape.
