Mr. and Mrs. James McLaren, of Lima will becoine residents of Chelsea his week Rev. J. H. Mclntosh commenced his abors with the M. E. church at this )laoe last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Nutting. who, afer an absence of 15 years, returned to hese parts last Dec. to visit relativesand oíd friends, started Wednesday for their lome insouthern California. They preer California to Michigan for climate, soil and productions. O. T. Hoover, formerly foreman on the Chelsea Herald, has accepted a situation in the Conrier office at Jackson. Orrin is an industrious young man, of unblemished character ; untarnished reputation ; has no bad habits; isqukk md enthusiastic in his chr-sen art, and s actuaied by a high and noble puriose to earn and win success by fightng itout on that line. Chelsea fair made quite a sur among us last week, but receipts will scarcly Dalance expenditures. The hard season through which the farmers have just Dassed has leftthem in a rather indiferent state of mind respecting fairs. Dr. Reilly's address on Thursday p. m. wap a decided attraction, and nearly 3,000 people were present to hear it, and no one went away disappointed.
