Since boybood Í have always had a strange control of horses. I can no more explain it than I could teil you why my eyes aro b ack ; but it is a f act that bafore I have hundled a boi-se long-he will follow me like a dog and answer my command. I once had the four horses tbat pull the engine at Broadwny and Almond under such control that at the ilistance of a bloek tbey would answer my whistle and raco like the wind to see wbicb could reach me fii-st. An old fire horse was onco sold to an asbman. He was hitohed to a post a block away, and I thought I recognized him, and I wbistled. I had not seen hini for two years, but be recognized my wbistle, and, breaking the hitehing strap, he canie tearing to me, tvitb tbe cart rattling bebind him.
