Londov, Xov. 11.- The proclamation of Slr Charles Warren, the head of the London, pólice, forbidding the holding of a meeting in Trafalgar square yesterday wasplacarded throughout London, and at H o'clook in the morning the square was occupled by 4,000 Iolicemen, small drafts having been made trom every district In the metropolis. Until 1 o'clock there were no signs oí a procession. At that hour groéis, mainly of slght-seers or roughs, began to assemble In the vicinlty of the square, but a squad of mounted pólice kept trafile moving and dispersed each group as it formed. About 4 o'clock the variou3 societies- socialistic, rad cal and Irish- headed by bands of musio and carrying banners nnd mottoes, began to approach the square fiom every directlon. The pólice attacked and dispersed each (froup as it arrived near the square. Fierce rïghts took place on the Strand, Northumberland avenue, Whitehall, Pall Mali and other adjacent streets. One of the societies succeeded in entering the square, but was repuised after a bloody fight, in which Commoner Orahaiu was seriously injured. Graham waa subsequently arrested for attacking the pólice. At 4:30 p. ml the crowd in the vicinlty of the square numbered 100,000, and the police were powerless to thoroughly dispersa them. Caralry and infantry were summoued to tbe assistance of the pólice, but no charge was made, as the people of their own acoord began to disperse at dusk, About 200 citizens and 40 policemen wera injured. Fifty persons were arrested.
