Polsonlng in Hilan. At the last meeting of the state board of health, Dr. Vaugbaa made a report relative to the tyrotoxicon poisoning which occurred in Mitan in September, and the report in printed (orm ha9 just been received. The fcllowing is part of the report: " Dr. Vaughan soon made up his mind that the sickness was probably due to the bad and unwholesome condition of the house, which was 60 years old and nearly rotten. One floor was nearJy rotted away, and was covered by a newerone. The house had Eettled a good deal; there was no cellar ; the land in all directions sloped towards the house, so that the building was constantly on damp soil. as there was no artificial drainage. The sweeptngs and moppings for years had accumulated in the cracks of the floor, so that when the floor was taken up a naueeating odor aróse. The farmer sold cream to a creamery in thO neighborhood, the proprietor of which had received the doe menta of the Michigan state board of health on cholera infantum and poisoning by cheese, milk. etc. He induced the farmer to keep his milk away from the house and in a cool place until the cream was collecte J and taken away. The milk consumedby the four members of the family was kept in a small closet or pantry in the house, where tliey frcquently went and helped themselvesto milk. They had been sick in the same way a number of times before this violent outbreak which resulted in the death of two of their number. Dr. Vaughan marte experimeute as follows: He placed freshmilkin the pantry for a short time, and then found enough tyrotoxicon had developed inthemiik to make a eat slck. He took some of the earth under the pantry floor, and placed a small quantity of it in some freshmilk, soon afterwMch tyrotoxicon was obtained from ihe milk, while none could be obtained from another sample of fresh milk which stood by the tide of the milk in which the earth been placed. This seeeis to demónstrate that the soil contained the germ of decomposition which produces the poison."
