To the Editor of The Register : Sir : - Your reporter misunderstood my rcmarks at the Probibition conference. I eaid local option could do little or nothing for probibition in the hands of officerB elected by parties opposed to it ; yet I would sign a petition and vote for prohibition anywhere and on ever so small a territory, and for illustratiou referred to " the corner across the etreet or any other spot," not intimatini that liqnor 9 eold there, but jast the contrary, because I know it is not sol 1 there. I would, for the moral effect, have any inch of soil honored by prohibition - first in law and then in fact - as much aa you can. I am eure the worthy gentlemen aoross the street agrees with me ezactly in what I said and in wbat I meant.
