Manager Sawyer cf the Grand cpera house has secured tbe Templo Tnea'.re cotnic opera company of Pniladelphia (o give "The Litlle Tycoon" in Ana Abr next Monday evening. The maneger or ihe Ttmple theatre certifies that the comany coming here is the same company that appeared in Philadelphia during the wonderful run that opera had in Philaitlpliis, and it includes R. E. Graham and Miss Elma Delaro. It is said ot this ipera that " many novel bits of bus. neus and clever devices of stage management ïave been added of late, and the perform anee now goes with a rush. In the oecotid act, which has been by degrees changed rom the original construction into an exccedingly variegated and picturesque rouical mosaic, the topical song, ' You cawn't do it, you know' (introduced bv R. E Jraham, who plavs General Kniokerbocker), promises to become as familiar as any tl the melodies of 'Pinafore.' Miss ïlma Delaro as Miss Hurricnne, a personage of the Lady Jane sort, acted with her cus'omary effuiveness and originality. Jer suocess in the second aot, in twisting ler face into the very expressions which lave leered and simpered, and sprawled and languished on all of us from tea-trays, screens and fans, was really wonderlu!. The chorus was comely and tuntful." It is also said that " the orchestra is arge and is ikillfully handled by Mr. Fred. Jagel, who depends more upon the ïarmony of stringed instrumen's than on he noise of horns and cornets. The scenery, mounting and dressing were simply superb. The interior of the scond act was of the most gorgeous decripiion, and the transfortnation that fol ovred was novel, startlicg and a triumph of modern stage meehanism. The panoramic view of New York city and harbor, in the first act, is very realisticandpretty." lI'ss Elma Delaro is said to be not only a alei ted comedienne, but has a mezzo voice of admirable quality.
