Washington, Nov. 26.- In reply to questions by Secretary Lámar relativo to tha adjustment of land grants under the act of March 3, 1887, i ttorney-General Garland renders an opinión that the claims of bona fide Bettlers have priority over all others, and defines "bona fide Bettlers" as thoso whose homeetead or pre-emption entries have been erroneously canceled on account of railroad gTant or withdrawal ; those who are bona lide purchasers of unclaimed lands and those settlers residí ng thereon.
