Miss Pollard was at the building yesterday at four o'clook, for the purpose of arranging a olass in elocution. - There will be a social at the home of Prof. Perry, on Washicgton-st tomorrow evening for' the benefit of the Christian assoeiation. - Parents wighins; to ascertain the progress of their children in school, may do so by inquiring of Prof. Perry, who is always ready and williog to answer such quegtions.- At the meeting of the Delta Epsilon literary society last Friday evening the following officers were elected : President, Nellie Cutler; vice president Mr Price; editor, Mr. Bates; secretary, Miss Alexander; treasurer, Mr. Speer; critica Miss Susie Harwood and Mr. Clay. Thé debate, Resolved, That the prees 'should be restricted, was decided in favor of the affirmative.- The debate, Resolved, That the jury system should be abolished, for tomorrow evening, in lyceum No. i, promises to re a very entertaining one. Le Roy Southmaid and A. B. Johns are for the affirmative, and Herben R. Crozier and T. E. Goodrich for the negativo.
