Thirteen Thousand Divorces
Madison, Wis., Via 7.- Wüliarn J. ArmBtrong, In the employ of the National Bureau of Labor Statistici, who has been engaged in statistics of divorce, has concluded his work in thia State for the present and will return to Washington. He has labored in twentyfive of the sixty-eight counties and found that 6,000 divorces ha leen prauted sinca January 1, 1867. The counties examined are in the most populous portions of the State. He estimates that the whoJe number for the State since that date ie nearly 13,000. Among the causes assigned for the divorces, Mr. says, desertion is the most prominent Followlng this in the order given is crueltj-, habitual drunkenness and iniidelity.
